Description

Nine action packed days of events for all the family in and around Wigtown.

Saturday 4th July
Street Market
- opens at 10am
Crowining of the Princess - County Buildings 2pm
Fancy Dress Parade - Assemble County Buildings for judging 1.30pm
Age 5 & under, anything goes
Age 6-11yrs, Jungle Character
Age 11yrs and over, Historical Character
Pairs Only, depict a Musical
Best Decorated Un-mortised vehicle.
Evening of Dance and Song - County Buildings 8pm, tickets £5 available from Machars Action and Betty Mcgowan 01988 403224.

Sunday 5th July
Swamp Soccer - commences 12noon.  Teams of 6 (must include 2 females), meet Martyrs Stake car park.
Praise Concert - Wigtown Gardens (County Buildings if wet) at 7pm.

Monday 6th July
Bowling
- Open Pairs, 12noon, Wigtown Bowling Club
Jungle Safari - Under 5s, 2pm-3pm Baptist Church.
Getting Girly with it - 10.30am-12noon, Parish Church Hall - all ages.
Mamma Mia - Sing along to Abba's greatest hits, 2pm Wigtown County Buildings.
Boys will be Boys - 2pm - 3.30pm - all ages.
Mini Marathon - meet and register Church Hall, 6.30pm for 7pm start - open to all age groups.
Pairs Whist Drive - The Smiddy, 7.30pm

Tuesday 7th July
Childrens Fun Pet show
- Lorry Park Wigtown, 11am.
Picnic time - 0-P3s, Baptist church 2pm-4pm
Giant games - P4-S1, County Buildings 2pm-4pm
Pub Style All age Quiz - 7.30pm County buildings, teams of four.
King of the Castle - 10-15yrs - Meet Golf Club Car park  7pm start.

Wednesday 8th July
Messy Play
- under 5s2pm, 3pm Baptist Church, dress to make a mess.
Jam Jar lanterns - p1-p3s, 2pm - 3.30pm The Manse, Church Lane. Bring a jam jar.
Willow Lantern making for all the family - 10am - 12noon, Parish Church Hall.
Bingo - County Buildings, Wigtown, starts 7.30pm.

Thursday 9th July
Bug Fun for families
- 2pm-3.30pm, The Manse, Church Lane.
P6+ Girls - Make up, Jeans painting, county buildings, supper Room, 2pm-4pm
Car Treasure Hunt - Assemble and report Chruch hall before 6.30pm

Friday 10th July
Junior Open Golf Tournament
- Meet Wigtown Golf Club 10am (Wigtown members only).
Story, Song and Craft - Under 5s, Wigtown library, 2pm -3pm
Kids Disco - 4-7 years, Wigtown County Buildings2pm-4pm
Family Activites - Come along and make banners or streamers 2pm-3.30pm Church Hall
WRI Event - Good old Days, Concert Wigtown County Buildings, 7.30pm tickets £3.
Wigtown Witchery - Spooky Ghost Walk, meet at Kaos Cafe 10.40pm, teams of 3 must include an adult.

Saturday 11th July
Its a Knockout
- 11am-1pm & 2pm-4pm Wigtown Primary School, mixed teams of 4-6 £5 entry.
Family Fun Picnic - 1pm-2pm Wigtown Primary School, bring your picnic.
Fishing Competition - Wigtown Harbour, 1pm-3pm
Presentation of Trophies/Prizes - 7.30pm Wigtown Primary School.
Lantern Parade - Led by Stranraer & District Pipe Band, starts 8.30. Fireworks.

Sunday 12th July
Raft Race - Starts Bladnoch Bridge approx 3pm.  Rafts report by 2.30pm.
Car Boot Sale - Wigtown harbour 1pm onwards.  £5 per pitch.
Thanksgiving Service - Wigtown harbour 7pm (County Buildings) if wet.

Also ongoing competitions.
Window Spotting Competition - forms from Kaos Cafe.
Pool and Domino Competitions - watch for notices.
Photography Competition
Children's Section - A view of Wigtown, holiday snap.
Adults Section - Photograph with Caption; Black and White Photograph; Digital Photograph. 5x7 with mounts not to exceed 1".
Entries to Creaking Shelves Bookshop by 5pm Weds 1st July.
